Job Full Description
We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Scissor Lift Operator to perform elevated cleaning and maintenance duties in commercial, industrial, or institutional settings. This position involves operating a scissor lift to reach high interior surfaces for detailed cleaning, including dusting, mopping, and wiping down walls, ceilings, and border panels. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:

Safely operate a scissor lift to access elevated areas for cleaning.

Wipe down ceilings, walls, and border panels while elevated.

Wipe down walls again when coming down from the lift to ensure thorough cleaning.

Clean staircases and surrounding areas as part of assigned tasks.

Handle cleaning tools and materials safely and efficiently (materials provided).

Follow safety protocols at all times, including use of proper PPE.

Conduct pre- and post-operation safety checks of the scissor lift.

Report any equipment or site issues to a supervisor immediately.

Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Proven experience operating scissor lifts in a commercial or industrial environment.

Valid Scissor Lift or Aerial Work Platform certification (OSHA).

Experience in janitorial or facility maintenance roles preferred.

Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals and equipment at heights.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Physically able to perform tasks that include bending, climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs., and standing for long periods.

Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications:

Scissor lift certification.

Familiarity with green cleaning practices or chemical safety protocols.

Prior experience in warehouse, commercial property, or large facility cleaning.
Working Conditions:

Indoor environments, occasionally exposed to dust, odors, and cleaning chemicals.

Working at heights up to 30+ feet using a scissor lift.

May involve evening, overnight, or weekend shifts depending on facility needs.

Requires wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
