Express Employment Professionals is currently recruiting for a skilled and detail-oriented Seamstress / Tailor / Sewist – Alterations Specialist to support a local bridal shop, who is on a mission-driven organization dedicated to preserving meaningful memories through craftsmanship.
Position Overview
The Alterations Specialist will be responsible for sewing, tailoring, and modifying gowns with precision and care. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys detailed sewing work, takes pride in quality craftsmanship, and wants to contribute their skills in a calm, creative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform garment alterations, tailoring, and repairs
- Measure, pin, cut, and sew fabrics accurately
- Work with formal gowns and delicate materials
- Follow alteration instructions and design specifications
- Operate sewing machines and hand-sewing tools
- Ensure high-quality workmanship and consistency
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Qualifications
- Experience as a seamstress, tailor, or sewist (professional or advanced hobbyist)
- Strong understanding of sewing techniques and garment construction
- Ability to work with a variety of fabrics, including formalwear
- Excellent attention to detail and finishing quality
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Preferred (Not Required)
- Alterations experience with gowns or formal dresses
- Hand-sewing and fine finishing skills
- Prior tailoring or alterations shop experience
