Welder / Fitter – Structural Steel Fabrication
Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for a local steel fabrication company
📍 Location: Waco, TX
💲 Pay: $18–$24/hour (DOE)
🕒 Schedule: Full-time | Overtime available
🔄 Position Type: Evaluation Hire (Temp-to-Perm)
Position Overview
Express Employment Professionals is seeking experienced Welder/Fitters with structural steel fabrication experience. Candidates must be able to read blueprints, fabricate components, and weld structural assemblies to specification.
Applicants must supply their own welding gear and be prepared to complete a welding and blueprint test during the hiring process.
Key Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings

Fabricate and assemble structural steel components

Weld structural frames and assemblies to specification

Operate burn tables and fabrication equipment
-
Perform saw cuts, drill holes, and beam preparation
-
Measure, fit, and align components accurately

Maintain quality standards and production timelines

Follow shop safety procedures and maintain clean work areas
Required Skills & Experience
✔ Structural steel fabrication and welding experience
✔ Ability to read and work from blueprints
✔ Experience building frames, studs, and structural assemblies
✔ Burn table operation experience
✔ Beam cutting, drilling, and layout experience
✔ Strong measuring and fitting skills
✔ Ability to pass welding and blueprint test
✔ Must provide own welding gear
Preferred Experience
⭐ Experience in structural steel or industrial fabrication
⭐ Familiarity with shop equipment and fabrication tools
⭐ Strong attention to detail and workmanship quality
Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and maneuver steel components

Standing, bending, and working in a fabrication environment

Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled shop
