Position Title: Maintenance Technician
Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor
Schedule: Full-time; rotating weekends and some evenings required
On-Call: 24-hour emergency call availability
Position Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the preventative and corrective maintenance of building systems, equipment, and grounds. This role involves routine inspections, repairs, troubleshooting, and supporting the overall facility operation. The technician works closely with staff, administrators, and church members, ensuring a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, air filters, floor drains, plumbing, and electrical systems
- Troubleshoot and repair issues related to mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and lighting systems
- Execute minor building repairs and upgrades, including painting, fixture replacement, door and lockset installation
- Monitor and address external facility issues (roof, parking, landscaping, lighting)
- Maintain and repair energy management systems and closed-loop water systems
- Collaborate with team members and respond promptly to service requests and emergencies
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and always follow safety procedures
Requirements:
Knowledge & Skills:
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and grounds maintenance
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and instructions
- Basic PC skills (Windows-based systems)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Experience:
- 2–4 years’ experience in HVAC maintenance and repair
- 2–3 years’ general building maintenance experience (plumbing, electrical, carpentry)
- Trade school or technical training preferred
Special Conditions:
- Must obtain a Texas CDL within 90 days of employment
- Ability to bend, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs
- Subject to rotating weekend and evening shifts
- On-call for 24-hour emergency maintenance
