CNC Programmer – Aluminum Extrusion Company

Location: Megargel, Texas
Schedule: 12-hour shifts with mandatory overtime
Employment Type: Evaluation-to-Hire (Temp-to-Perm)

Position Summary

The CNC Programmer will be responsible for programming, setting up, and optimizing CNC machinery used in aluminum extrusion manufacturing. This role requires an experienced professional with a solid understanding of CNC programming principles, machining techniques, and process improvement. The ideal candidate is dependable, quality-focused, and capable of performing in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs for aluminum extrusion production.
  • Set up CNC machines, adjust tooling, and oversee machining operations.
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and extrusion specifications.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and make real-time program or tooling adjustments.
  • Monitor production quality and ensure parts meet dimensional and tolerance requirements.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of programs, setups, and process improvements.
  • Work safely and follow all company operational guidelines.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs as needed.
  • Collaborate with production, maintenance, and quality teams to improve efficiency and output.

Qualifications

  • Required: Minimum 2–3 years of CNC programming experience (preferably in aluminum or metal fabrication).
  • Strong understanding of G-code, CNC controls, and CAD/CAM software.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Experience with extrusion industry equipment is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Must be able to work 12-hour shifts and mandatory overtime.
  • Excellent past attendance and reliability required.

Schedule

  • 12-hour shift structure (day or night shift depending on need).
  • Mandatory overtime during peak production periods.
