Production – Sandbox Operations

Schedule: 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Position Summary

The Sandbox Machine Operator & Robotics Technician is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations within the sand and sawdust processing area. This role ensures consistent material flow, upholds quality control standards, and manages the operation, observation, and light maintenance of robotic equipment. The operator plays a key role in maintaining safe, efficient, and continuous production throughout the shift.

Primary Responsibilities

Material & Sandbox Operations

• Monitor and maintain the flow of incoming sawdust to ensure proper levels and consistency.
• Keep the sandbox area clean, organized, and free of blockages.
• Conduct routine checks on sawdust quality, moisture content, and overall material condition.

Quality Control

• Inspect output to ensure all products meet company quality standards.
• Make necessary adjustments to equipment or settings to maintain product quality.
• Record inspection results and report any quality deviations immediately.

Machine & Robot Operation

• Operate, monitor, and control automated systems and robotic machinery.
• Observe robots during operation to ensure proper function and safety.
• Adjust operating parameters based on production needs and system feedback.
• Maintain accurate logs of equipment performance, settings, and downtime.

Troubleshooting & Basic Repairs

• Identify and resolve minor mechanical issues with robots and related equipment.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance according to guidelines.
• Manually adjust or reset robots in the event of jams, errors, or interruptions.
• Report complex mechanical issues to the maintenance team.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA guidelines.
• Wear required PPE at all times while in production areas.
• Immediately report any safety hazards, equipment issues, or process concerns.

Qualifications

• Previous machine operation or robotics experience preferred; willing to train motivated candidates.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
• Ability to work independently and maintain focus during extended observation periods.
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in an industrial environment with sawdust and machinery.

Work Environment

• Industrial production setting with exposure to dust, machinery, and variable noise levels.
• Requires standing, bending, lifting, and manual operation throughout the shift.
