Job Title: Architectural Drafter (Chief Architect Specialist)
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Architectural Drafter with strong proficiency in Chief Architect software to produce high-quality construction drawings for a variety of new-build projects. The ideal candidate will have experience creating detailed plans for residential and/or light commercial construction, a solid understanding of building codes, and the ability to transform design concepts into accurate, build-ready documents.

Key Responsibilities
- Use Chief Architect to create complete construction drawing sets, including floor plans, elevations, sections, framing plans, site layouts, and 3D models.
- Interpret architectural concepts, sketches, and client requirements into professional-quality drafting documents.
- Collaborate with designers, project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure accurate plan development.
- Revise drawings based on feedback from internal teams, clients, and permitting authorities.
- Ensure all plans comply with applicable building codes, zoning regulations, and company drafting standards.
- Maintain organized project files and document control throughout the drafting process.
- Generate accurate material takeoffs and schedules when required.
- Assist in improving drafting templates, libraries, and workflows within Chief Architect.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Chief Architect (X13 or later preferred), with a strong portfolio demonstrating drafting capabilities.
- 2+ years of experience in architectural drafting, residential design, or related field (or equivalent education/experience).
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, building components, and residential building codes.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and mechanical drawings.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with other design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or Bluebeam.
- Knowledge of local permitting processes.
- Understanding of structural detailing and framing design.
- Ability to create photorealistic renderings (optional)
