Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Framer / Finish Carpenter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate has strong experience in residential and/or light commercial framing and finish carpentry, with the ability to read plans, work independently, and deliver high-quality craftsmanship. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of building methods and safety standards.
Hours vary depending on job, Monday-Friday 7a-5p. Wage depends on experience, $22/hr+
Key Responsibilities
Framing Duties
- Construct and install structural frameworks, including walls, floors, ceilings, roofs, and stair systems
- Measure, cut, and assemble wood, engineered lumber, and other framing materials
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and building plans
- Ensure framing meets local building codes and structural requirements
- Install windows, doors, and blocking as required during framing stages
Finish Carpentry Duties
- Install trim, baseboards, crown molding, door and window casings
- Hang doors and install hardware
- Build and install cabinets, shelving, and custom woodwork as needed
- Perform detailed finish work with a high level of accuracy and craftsmanship
- Repair or replace damaged trim or finish components
General Responsibilities
- Safely use hand and power tools, including saws, nail guns, and measuring equipment
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite
- Work cooperatively with supervisors, subcontractors, and other trades
- Follow all safety regulations and company policies
- Accurately estimate material needs and minimize waste
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience in framing and finish carpentry
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and tools
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
- Excellent measuring, cutting, and installation skills
- Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Physical ability to lift materials, stand for long periods, and work in varying conditions
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in residential or commercial construction
- OSHA safety training (preferred but not required)
- Reliable transportation and basic carpentry tools
Work Environment
- Indoor and outdoor construction sites
- Exposure to noise, dust, and construction equipment
- Physical labor including bending, lifting, climbing, and standing
