Experienced Trucking Dispatcher - Temp-to-Hire | Salt Lake City, UT
Location: Salt Lake City, UT
Position Type: Temp-to-Hire
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM Extended Hours: Mondays & Fridays until 6 PM
On-Call: Rotating weekend availability (shared with office staff) Pay Rate: $20/hour

We are seeking an honest, detail-oriented, and dependable Trucking Dispatcher with a strong background in the transportation industry. This temp-to-hire position involves dispatching drivers, using digital tools like Tailwind and load boards, and ensuring operational protocols are followed. The ideal candidate is organized, professional, and committed to maintaining a drug-free, safety-conscious work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
*Dispatch and coordinate drivers for local and regional loads
*Assign loads using load boards and Tailwind TMS
*Monitor driver routes and update statuses in real time
*Maintain logs using Google Sheets, Excel, and Outlook
*Communicate clearly with drivers, customers, and office staff
*Navigate web-based systems for tracking and reporting
*Participate in a rotating weekend on-call schedule
Requirements:
*1-2+ years of experience in trucking dispatch
*Background in trucking or logistics preferred
*Proficient with load boards, Tailwind, and office software
*Skilled in Google Sheets, Excel, Outlook, and general computer use
*Honest, detail-oriented, and able to follow company protocol
*Drug-free and able to pass a background check
*Excellent time management, problem-solving, and communication skills
