Marketing and Development Specialist
Position Overview
Our Client is seeking a dynamic Marketing and Development Specialist to drive business growth through targeted business development, marketing initiatives, and effective proposal management. The successful candidate will engage directly with industry stakeholders, maintain the company's strong brand identity, and manage digital content to enhance our competitive positioning. Collaborating closely with sales, estimating, and project management teams, this role is key to securing new business opportunities and achieving strategic company goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Development & Client Engagement
· Serve as the primary contact for General Contractors (GCs), Electrical Contractors (ECs), and key decision-makers.
· Attend and prepare content for networking events and industry conferences to identify and secure opportunities.
· Manage and maintain the CRM database, tracking leads, opportunities, and follow-up activities.
2. Marketing & Branding
· Ensure marketing materials, proposals, and presentations adhere to company branding guidelines.
· Develop engaging visual content, including graphics, infographics, and presentations.
· Regularly update and manage the company website and online profiles.
· Create and maintain content for the company’s digital platforms, including advertisements, case studies, newsletters, and internal communications.
· Manage the SharePoint (Intranet) site with up-to-date internal communications.
3. Proposal Creation & Management
· Lead the proposal development process, ensuring alignment with RFP requirements and company standards.
· Develop, standardize, and maintain proposal templates, documentation, and visual consistency.
· Proofread, edit, and ensure accuracy and compliance in all bid documents.
· Assist with pre-qualification submissions to secure bid eligibility.
· Maintain a comprehensive proposal library with approved content, case studies, and historical performance data.
4. Competitive Intelligence & Market Research
· Conduct market research and track industry developments to refine bid strategies.
· Analyze bid win/loss data to inform strategic decision-making and enhance future proposals.
· Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships and subcontractor relationships to improve competitiveness.
Qualifications & Skills
Education:
· Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience:
· Minimum of 3 years in business development, marketing, proposal coordination, or client engagement, preferably in construction or technology sectors.
· Experience with preparing pre-qualifications and large bid proposals.
Technical Skills:
· Proficiency with CRM software, bid management platforms, and document control systems.
· Skilled in Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and proposal automation tools.
· Experience managing website content (WordPress, Squarespace, or similar CMS platforms) is a plus.
Soft Skills:
· Strong organizational, communication, and time management abilities.
· Excellent attention to detail, formatting, and proofreading skills.
· Ability to coordinate and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Additional Requirements:
· Willingness to travel minimally (approximately 10%) for client meetings, networking events, and job site visits.
