Job Full Description
The Associate Production Planner supports production planning and scheduling activities to ensure materials, resources and manufacturing orders are aligned with customer demand and production objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and maintaining production schedules based on demand forecasts, customer orders, inventory levels and production capacity
- Monitor work orders and progress
- Review material shortages and collaborate with stakeholders to minimize production disruptions
- Update and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), routing information and planning parameters, as required
- Track work order status, including schedule attainment, production progress, material consumption, output accuracy
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production, material and scheduling issues
- Generate and maintain production, inventory and planning reports to support operational decision making
- Maintain strict adherence to company procedures, planning processes, and operational standards
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of manufacturing and program needs
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration or related field; equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
- 0-2 years experience in production planning, scheduling, manufacturing operations, or related fields
- Intern or Co-op experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
- Advanced proficiency in in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and formulas to analyze production, inventory and operational data to support planning and decision-making
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or other regulated industries
- Familiarity with Microsoft Business Central
- Knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) concepts
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
- Extended periods of sitting, standing and work at a computer
- Regular interaction with manufacturing, warehouse, and production areas
- Exposure to production activity, controlled documents, and regulated processes
- Use of PPE may be required while on production floor
