Position Summary

The CNC Router Operator will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC router machinery to produce precision components for high-end furniture. This role requires a strong eye for detail, knowledge of woodworking techniques, and the ability to work with complex designs and premium materials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, program, and operate CNC routers to cut, shape, and finish wood and other materials according to design specifications.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, CAD models, and blueprints.
  • Maintain strict quality standards to meet the company’s high-end furniture expectations.
  • Troubleshoot and adjust machine settings to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Perform routine maintenance on CNC machinery and tools.
  • Collaborate with designers, engineers, and craftsmen to ensure design integrity.
  • Monitor inventory of materials, tools, and consumables for CNC operations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience operating CNC routers in a woodworking or furniture manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret CAD/CAM files and G-code.
  • Strong understanding of woodworking techniques, joinery, and finishing processes.
  • Familiarity with premium hardwoods, veneers, and specialty materials.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality craftsmanship.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Physical ability to handle materials and work in a manufacturing setting.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with design software (AutoCAD, Rhino, Fusion 360, or similar).
  • Knowledge of solid wood and veneer machining.
  • Background in high-end or custom furniture making.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing practices.
