Position Summary
The CNC Router Operator will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC router machinery to produce precision components for high-end furniture. This role requires a strong eye for detail, knowledge of woodworking techniques, and the ability to work with complex designs and premium materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, program, and operate CNC routers to cut, shape, and finish wood and other materials according to design specifications.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, CAD models, and blueprints.
- Maintain strict quality standards to meet the company’s high-end furniture expectations.
- Troubleshoot and adjust machine settings to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC machinery and tools.
- Collaborate with designers, engineers, and craftsmen to ensure design integrity.
- Monitor inventory of materials, tools, and consumables for CNC operations.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating CNC routers in a woodworking or furniture manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret CAD/CAM files and G-code.
- Strong understanding of woodworking techniques, joinery, and finishing processes.
- Familiarity with premium hardwoods, veneers, and specialty materials.
- Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality craftsmanship.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Physical ability to handle materials and work in a manufacturing setting.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with design software (AutoCAD, Rhino, Fusion 360, or similar).
- Knowledge of solid wood and veneer machining.
- Background in high-end or custom furniture making.
- Experience with lean manufacturing practices.
