Now Hiring: Traveling Electrician – Roanoke & Surrounding Areas
Job Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Electrician! This role is perfect for someone with experience in commercial and industrial electrical work, who can read blueprints and schematics, and enjoys working on a variety of projects—from renovations to new construction. You’ll play a key role in ensuring all electrical installations meet safety standards and comply with the National Electrical Code (NEC).
Pay: $20+hr
Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in commercial and industrial settings.
- Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and low/high voltage systems.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively to complete tasks efficiently.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine layout and installation procedures.
- Conduct inspections of electrical systems to identify hazards or defects.
- Collaborate with other trades on construction sites to ensure timely project completion.
- Troubleshoot electrical equipment using ohmmeters and other diagnostic tools.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and practices while on the job site.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an electrician in industrial and commercial environments.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
- Knowledge of NEC guidelines and electrical safety standards.
- Strong familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in electrical work.
- Experience with frame carpentry is a plus for renovation projects.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team on construction sites.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Previous experience as a maintenance person is beneficial.
