Job Summary:
The Crew Lead is responsible for overseeing daily fence installation projects, managing a small team of installers, and ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to high quality standards. This role combines hands-on labor with leadership responsibilities, requiring strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a crew in the installation of various types of fencing (wood, vinyl, chain-link, aluminum, etc.)
- Plan daily work activities, assign tasks, and ensure projects stay on schedule
- Read and interpret project layouts, measurements, and specifications
- Ensure all installations meet company standards and customer expectations
- Operate and maintain tools, equipment, and work vehicles
- Train and mentor crew members on proper installation techniques and safety procedures
- Communicate with customers on-site to address questions and ensure satisfaction
- Inspect completed work for accuracy, quality, and compliance
- Maintain a clean and organized job site
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure team adherence to OSHA guidelines
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in fence installation, construction, or a related field
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Ability to read measurements, use levels, and follow layout plans
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Work Environment:
- Primarily outdoor work in residential and commercial settings
- Exposure to varying weather conditions
- Frequent lifting, bending, and use of hand and power tools
Schedule:
- Full-time, typically Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work depending on project demands
