Job Title: Industrial Painter – Tractor Trailer Modifications
Location: Salem, VA
Job Type: Full-Time
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Painter, specializing in modifications and custom work on tractor trailer trucks. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in surface preparation, painting, and finishing techniques to ensure high-quality, durable results.
Key Responsibilities:
✅Prepare surfaces for painting, including sanding, buffing, cleaning, and masking areas as needed.
✅Apply primers, paints, and coatings using spray guns, brushes, or rollers according to company and manufacturer standards.
✅Perform touch-ups, blending, and finishing to achieve smooth, consistent surfaces.
✅Inspect completed work to ensure quality and adherence to specifications.
✅Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper disposal of paint materials and adherence to safety protocols.
✅Collaborate with the fabrication and modification teams to coordinate paint work on trucks and trailers.
✅Troubleshoot and resolve paint-related issues, such as uneven coverage, drips, or color mismatches.
Qualifications:
☑️Proven experience as an industrial painter, preferably in the automotive or heavy truck industry.
☑️Proficient in sanding, buffing, masking, priming, and painting techniques.
☑️Knowledge of different types of paints, coatings, and finishes used on metal surfaces.
☑️Ability to read and follow work orders, blueprints, or modification plans.
☑️Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
☑️Familiarity with safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
☑️Physical stamina and the ability to work in various positions, including standing, bending, and reaching for extended periods.
Preferred:
✔️Experience with custom truck or trailer modifications.
✔️Certification or training in industrial painting or coatings.
