Now Hiring a Lead Service Technician based in Roanoke, VA.
Position Overview:
The Lead Service Technician is responsible for overseeing service crews and ensuring the proper maintenance and installation of air filters, duct cleaning, water damage restoration, and microbial abatement across contracted facilities. This role combines hands-on technical work with crew supervision, scheduling, and client coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance at contracted facilities, including:
- Air filter replacement
- Belt changes
- Condenser coil cleaning
- Deep cleaning air handling equipment
- Inspecting all air handler components
- Supervise and guide service crews on-site to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
- Schedule and coordinate with facility staff for equipment shutdowns required to perform maintenance.
- Follow proper lockout-tagout procedures for all equipment.
- Ensure timely completion of all job site tasks.
- Maintain company vehicles and trailers in good working condition.
- Plan and visit contracted facilities quarterly to install scheduled filters and supervise crews.
- Coordinate disposal of materials removed or replaced during service visits.
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Work in a variety of environments, including outdoors, and in mechanical rooms.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Strong attendance and reliability.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, email).
- Ability to lift and carry moderately heavy equipment and materials.
- Comfortable working in diverse conditions, including on ladders and in outdoor environments.
- Willingness to travel to multiple job sites, including overnight stays when required.
Preferred Attributes:
- Leadership experience in supervising service crews.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems, air handling units, and indoor air quality practices.
- Experience with water damage restoration and microbial abatement.
