Job Title: Commercial Insurance Accounts Manager
Position Overview:
The Commercial Insurance Accounts Manager serves as the primary point of contact for commercial insurance clients, managing their accounts with professionalism, accuracy, and efficiency. This role is responsible for maintaining and growing client relationships, handling renewals and endorsements, ensuring policy accuracy, and supporting producers in meeting business goals. The Accounts Manager will also collaborate with internal teams that handle personal, life, and health insurance lines to ensure a seamless client experience across all product offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Service & Relationship Management
- Serve as the main contact for assigned commercial insurance clients, providing exceptional customer service and timely responses.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships by understanding their business operations and insurance needs.
- Educate clients on policy coverages, exclusions, and options, ensuring clarity and transparency.
- Proactively identify opportunities for cross-selling personal, life, and health insurance products.
Policy Administration
- Manage the full renewal process, including gathering updated underwriting information, preparing renewal proposals, and presenting options to clients.
- Process endorsements, certificates of insurance, cancellations, and reinstatements accurately and promptly.
- Review policies and documents for accuracy before delivery to clients.
- Coordinate with underwriters and carriers to negotiate terms, resolve issues, and ensure favorable outcomes for clients.
Sales Support & Growth
- Partner with producers and agency leadership to identify opportunities for account rounding and new business.
- Support marketing efforts, including preparing submissions and collecting underwriting information.
- Participate in client review meetings and assist with strategy for retention and growth.
Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in the agency management system (e.g., Applied Epic, AMS360, HawkSoft, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with agency, carrier, and regulatory requirements.
- Stay current with carrier guidelines, industry trends, and changes in commercial insurance coverage.
Team Collaboration
Work collaboratively with other departments (Personal Lines, Life & Health, Claims, Accounting) to deliver comprehensive service.
Provide mentorship and training to junior account staff as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent work experience considered.
- Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of experience managing commercial insurance accounts in an independent agency or carrier environment.
- Licensing: Active Property & Casualty Insurance License required. Life & Health License a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with agency management systems (Applied Epic, AMS360, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge of commercial insurance lines including General Liability, Property, Auto, Workers’ Compensation, Umbrella, and Professional Liability.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
