Job Title: Fitter Welder

Position Overview:

The Fitter Welder is responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing structural steel components in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and company quality standards. This role requires a strong understanding of steel fabrication, welding techniques, and an unwavering commitment to safety, quality, and on-time delivery.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and work from detailed engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Fabricate and assemble structural steel components, ensuring accuracy and alignment.
  • Perform high-quality welding using MIG, TIG, or stick (SMAW) processes as required.
  • Conduct fit-ups, tack welds, and final welds to meet structural integrity and aesthetic standards.
  • Operate fabrication tools and equipment, including grinders, cutting torches, and plasma cutters.
  • Inspect completed work for quality and compliance with project specifications.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and project teams to ensure efficient workflow and problem-solving.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and contribute to a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Trade qualification as a Fitter Welder, Boilermaker, or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in structural steel fabrication and installation.
  • Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and stick welding (certification preferred).
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed technical drawings and plans.
  • Familiarity with relevant tools, machinery, and welding standards.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and craftsmanship.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
