Temporary General Labor Associate/Forklift Driver (Building Cleanout & Move Support)
Location: Chesapeake
Position Type: Temporary Assignment (Approx. 4 Weeks)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Express Employment Professionals is currently seeking dependable and hardworking General Labor Associates for a short-term project supporting a building cleanout and relocation effort. This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy hands-on work, staying active throughout the day, and working as part of a team in an industrial environment. One position requires forklift experience, while the second position is open to candidates with general labor experience.
Job Responsibilities
- Remove, sort, and relocate materials throughout a facility
- Load discarded items into designated dumpsters
- Move equipment, supplies, and materials to other on-site locations
- Assist with facility cleanout, organization, and staging activities
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Follow all safety procedures and supervisor instructions
- Communicate with team members regarding oversized or heavy items requiring assistance
- Support general warehouse and material-handling duties as needed
Qualifications
- Previous experience in general labor, warehouse, moving, construction cleanup, material handling, or related fields preferred
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly throughout the shift
- Comfortable working in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Ability to follow directions and work safely
- Forklift experience preferred for one available position
Physical Requirements
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, and walking
- Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday
- Comfortable working around industrial equipment and material-handling operations
- Team lifting required for oversized or awkward items
Work Environment
- Industrial and warehouse-style setting
