Temporary General Labor Associate
Location: Virginia Beach, VA
Pay: $18.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday, August 17 through Thursday, August 20, 2026, with a possible extension through Friday
Hours: 8:00 AM–approximately 4:00 PM

Express Employment Professionals is hiring dependable General Labor Associates to assist with a large educational materials delivery and setup project in Virginia Beach.
This is a physically active, team-oriented assignment involving unloading, moving, organizing, and setting up materials throughout the facility. Attendance and punctuality are critical because the project must be completed within a limited timeframe.
Background Check Required
Because children may be present at the worksite, all applicants must successfully complete a background check before beginning the assignment. Candidates cannot have felony convictions, violent offenses, or offenses involving children.
Responsibilities

Unload pallets, boxes, and educational materials from delivery trucks

Move materials to designated rooms throughout the facility

Assist with unboxing, organizing, staging, and basic setup

Collect and organize cardboard, packaging, and other debris
-
Use hand trucks, dollies, carts, and pallet jacks as directed

Safely lift and carry materials throughout the workday
-
Follow instructions from on-site supervisors

Maintain a professional and productive work environment
Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently

Ability to assist with team lifting for heavier items

Comfortable standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying throughout the shift

Reliable transportation and consistent attendance

Ability to follow directions and work effectively with a team

Professional conduct while working in a facility where children may be present

Ability to meet applicable background-screening requirements

Previous general labor, warehouse, moving, unloading, material handling, or setup experience is preferred but not required
