Pay: $20 – $30 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00AM – 4:30PM


Job Details

This hands-on Facility Handyperson role is responsible for preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and general repair of building fixtures, grounds, and equipment within a food manufacturing and warehouse environment. This position supports production and warehouse operations by ensuring facilities remain clean, safe, sanitary, and fully operational through routine maintenance and predictive upkeep.


Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional facility and grounds in compliance with food-grade guidelines

  • Perform exterior and landscaping maintenance including mowing, weeding, trimming, pruning, planting, edging, leaf cleanup, pressure washing, and window cleaning

  • Maintain interior spaces including restrooms, lobby, offices, conference rooms, hallways, warehouse areas, and common spaces

  • Perform routine mechanical maintenance such as oil changes, lubrication, filter changes, parts replacement, cleaning, and operational safety checks

  • Monitor and manage maintenance and cleaning requests, prioritize tasks, and complete work order documentation and logs

  • Safely operate facility equipment and demonstrate proficiency with hand and power tools

  • Perform drywall, painting, plumbing, and concrete-related repairs and maintenance

  • Clean machinery, equipment, and work areas following repairs

  • Support production, maintenance, and operations teams by adapting to changing priorities

  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety standards, and operational procedures

  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record to operate company vehicles

  • Adhere to OSHA and company safety policies at all times

  • Obtain certification to operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts, boom lifts, and scissor lifts

  • Complete additional duties and facility projects as assigned


Qualifications / Requirements

  • Previous facilities, maintenance, or handyman experience preferred

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand and power tools

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain a high level of accuracy

  • Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment regarding safety

  • Ability to take direction from multiple sources and work independently when needed

  • Reliable transportation and excellent attendance record

  • Commitment to safety, sanitation, and quality standards


Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand, walk, twist, and bend for up to 2-hour increments

  • Ability to lift tools and equipment weighing 50–100 lbs with team assistance for weights over 50 lbs

  • Ability to lift items 4–5 feet and load into trucks

  • Frequent reaching at, below, or above shoulder level with weights between 15–25 lbs; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs

  • Occasional climbing of ladders and plant structures

  • Ability to work physically active shifts of up to 10 hours per day
