CNC Machinist - Experienced Professional
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our team. In this position, you will manufacture a variety of parts, sub-assemblies, and machinery using horizontal and vertical CNC machines. The ideal candidate will work with precision, follow detailed specifications, and complete quality work within allocated timeframes.
Primary Responsibilities
- Set up CNC machines according to detailed setup sheet instructions for each job
- Work from prints and drawings to produce a variety of precision components
- Manufacture parts within specified timeframes listed on job travelers
- Inspect machined components against specified tolerances using precision measuring tools
- Complete Critical Dimensions Checklists for each job
- Maintain machinery and tooling in excellent working condition according to daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance schedules
- Manage personal quality tooling required for the job
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace and presentable appearance
- Prove programs and communicate necessary changes to programmers
Qualifications
- Technical school graduate, completed apprenticeship, or in-company four-year training program
- 5-7 years of hands-on experience operating large horizontal & vertical CNC mills
- Demonstrated ability to efficiently set up one-off parts without supervision
- Experience machining fabrications and castings
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently
- Proficient blueprint reading skills and understanding of trigonometry
- Expertise with quality measurement tools
- Proficiency in G-Code programming
- Own set of Machinist Tools & basic inspection equipment (calipers, micrometer, edge finder, dial indicator)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Capability to lift and move materials and tooling
- Manual dexterity for operating precision equipment
