Job Full Description
A client of ours in Vancouver is looking for a Tool & Die Machinist to join their team. The ideal candidate will have experience with troubleshooting and replacing electrical grids.
Duties:
- Build dies & fixtures from sketches or drawings of parts to be produced
- Studies specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models or descriptions, and visualizes product to determine methods of manufacturing and materials required
- Consult with Tooling Engineer and/or Fabrication Manager as to what press/production tooling will be used to fabricate parts
- Ability to assemble and disassemble simple to complex assemblies and/or dies
- Computes dimensions, plans layout, and determines assembly methods and sequence of operations
- Measures, marks, and scribes metal stock for machining, taking into consideration fit and clearance requirements
- Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shaper, and surface grinder to machine parts, and verifies conformance of machined parts to specifications
- Flat and form grind on manual or automatic surface grinder and hold +/- .0003 tolerance and fits and assembles parts together and assemblies and mechanisms
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Ability to build dies & fixtures from sketches or drawings of parts to be produced
- Studies specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models or descriptions, and visualizes product to determine methods of manufacturing and materials required.
Pay: $28.00-32.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00am-2:00pm
