HR Support Admin

Temp-to-Hire Position

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused HR Support Admin to join our team in a temp-to-hire capacity. This role will provide essential administrative support to our HR department while serving as a welcoming point of contact for employees across our Vancouver (VAN) and Portland (PDX) locations.

Key Details

  • Location: VAN based with split time between VAN and PDX locations
  • Schedule: Monday/Tuesday in VAN, Wednesday/Friday in PDX, Thursday alternating between VAN and PDX
  • Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (training hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)
  • Hourly Rate: $23.25 - $25.00/hour
  • Classification: Non-exempt (eligible for overtime upon conversion)
  • Training Location: Portland (PDX)

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact at the front desk, greeting employees and visitors with professionalism and warmth
  • Provide administrative support to the HR team, including data entry, file management, and document processing
  • Handle employee inquiries via phone, email, and in-person with discretion and confidentiality
  • Maintain accurate records in HR systems and databases
  • Assist with timekeeping processes and related employee support
  • Work independently while knowing when to escalate issues appropriately
  • Support various HR projects and initiatives as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of customer service experience
  • Strong commitment to confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with employees at all levels
  • Comfortable being customer-facing, including reception desk duties

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous HR experience or demonstrated interest in the HR field
  • Experience with timekeeping systems, HR software, or data entry
  • Familiarity with Kronos/UKG systems is a plus
  • Quick learner who can adapt to new systems and processes
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately follow directions and procedures
