Job Posting: Shuttle Driver (Class B)
Location: Vancouver, WA
Pay: $25.00 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time | Non-Exempt
Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Shuttle Driver to support local plant operations by moving trailers between production facilities and nearby cold storage locations. This role is critical to ensuring smooth shipping and production flow and requires experienced commercial driving skills in an industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Move and position trailers between plant docks and cold storage facilities
- Switch full and empty trailers throughout the shift
- Safely operate a 10-speed manual transmission truck
- Inspect trailers and report repair or maintenance needs
- Keep trailers and work areas clean and organized (including rinsing trailers when needed)
- Sort and track pallet condition and prevent damage when possible
- Follow all company policies, GMP food safety procedures, and safety standards
- Comply with instructions and assigned duties throughout the shift
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods while driving
- Ability to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, or crawl as needed
- Ability to work in extreme conditions, including:
- High heat (100°F+ during summer months)
- Extreme cold and wet environments
- Loud work environments
- Ability to work around moving equipment, fumes, airborne particles, and electrical hazards
- Ability to work in environments containing allergens
Equipment Used
- Class B commercial trucks with 10-speed manual transmission
- Trailers and dock equipment
- Forklift (preferred experience, not required)
Qualifications
Required
- Class B CDL or higher
- Minimum of two (2) years of truck driving experience
- Experience operating a manual (10-speed) transmission
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Preferred
- Forklift experience
- Experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environments
