Specialty Customer Service Representative
About the Role
Are you a people-person who loves solving problems and making sure things run smoothly? Our Vancouver based client is looking for a Specialty Customer Service Representative to join their Transportation Services team. In this role, you'll be the friendly voice on the phone helping community members schedule the rides they depend on — while working closely with our Program Coordinators to keep our Specialty Programs running seamlessly.
If you're organized, detail-oriented, and enjoy a fast-paced environment where every call matters, we'd love to talk to you.
What You'll Do
- Answer incoming calls and emails to schedule trips promptly, courteously, and professionally
- Determine passenger eligibility and provide clear service information
- Transfer Medicaid-eligible trips to NEMT and input trip data into NCSS, RART, and VIM systems
- Support Program Coordinators with scheduling and client outreach
- Communicate with shuttle and volunteer drivers, helping resolve day-to-day issues as they arise
- Partner with coordinators and management on more complex requests — vendor assignments, routing issues, policy exceptions, and client concerns
- Deliver a consistently high level of customer service that reflects positively on the organization
- Be a reliable, engaged member of a collaborative team
What You Bring
- Strong communication skills with both staff and the public
- Comfort gathering information through conversation/interview
- Basic computer skills (email, word processing, spreadsheets)
- Ability to learn and apply transportation rules, regulations, and procedures
- Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently
- Comfort working at a computer for extended periods in a fast-paced setting
Minimum Qualifications: Some college coursework, or one year of relevant experience in a call center or social service setting (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
A Plus If You Have:
- Prior call center experience
- Familiarity with community resources for older adults, low-income individuals, or people with disabilities
- Bilingual language skills
