Painting & Stain Finishing Laborer to assist with high-end interior and exterior finishing projects. This role supports expert finishers in preparing, applying, and maintaining paint and wood finishes across residential and commercial work.
Primary Duties
- Prepare surfaces by sanding, cleaning, scraping, and masking prior to finishing
- Assist with applying:
- Paint (walls, ceilings, trim)
- Stains, sealers, varnishes, and specialty finishes
- Help mix paints and stains to achieve correct color and consistency
- Support finishing work on:
- Cabinets, furniture, doors, and woodwork (shop or onsite)
- Load/unload materials and maintain tools and jobsite organization
- Tape off areas, cover fixtures, and protect surfaces during work
- Inspect and touch up finished work to meet quality standards
- Follow all jobsite safety standards
Typical Work Environment
- Mixed:
- Residential & commercial job sites (field work)
- Shop finishing facility (spray booths, staining area)
- Use of brushes, rollers, and spray equipment
- Exposure to paints, stains, dust, and fumes
Qualifications
- Entry-level to 2+ years in:
- Painting, staining, or construction labor
- Ability to:
- Lift materials and work on feet all day
- Use hand and power tools
- Strong attention to detail (critical for finishing work)
- Willingness to learn:
- Color matching, staining techniques, and coatings
