Express Employment Professionals is seeking a highly organized, detail-driven Accounts Payable Cleanup Specialist for a focused 12-week project aimed at bringing our clients AP records fully up to date. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys problem-solving, and has a strong understanding of AP processes and accounting best practices. You will work closely with the Accounting Manager and AP team to review, reconcile, and correct historical AP data, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and readiness for audit or system improvements.
Position: Temporary Accounts Payable Cleanup Specialist
Duration: 12 Weeks (Full-Time, Temporary)
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30AM-4:30PM
Location: Laramie, WY - On-site

Key Responsibilities
Data Cleanup & Reconciliation

Review outstanding vendor invoices, credits, and statements

Reconcile AP aging reports and identify discrepancies

Research and resolve unmatched purchase orders, duplicate entries, and payment variances

Correct coding errors, GL misclassifications, and incomplete invoice records

Ensure all AP transactions are properly documented and compliant with company policies
Process Support

Assist with backlog reduction and workflow streamlining

Validate vendor information and update records as needed

Support month-end close activities related to AP

Collaborate with internal departments (procurement, operations, finance) to resolve invoice issues
Documentation & Reporting

Maintain accurate cleanup logs and progress reports

Provide recommendations for preventing future AP data issues

Prepare summaries of findings for management review
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with AP cleanup projects or system migrations

Familiarity with ERP data validation and reconciliation

Knowledge of GAAP principles
