"I'm trying to find a work-life balance for myself and my family," said Matt Migliore when he was asked why he decided to enter the world of franchising. 

After close to 20 years in media and publishing, Migliore considered leaving the corporate world when his employer was acquired by a startup, and he turned his attention to franchising. At first, he looked at food service options but felt the revenue of those weren't worth the investment.

As he continued to look at options, it occurred to him that he wanted to find somewhere where he'd be able to help people. When he shared his ideas with his family, they wasted no time putting him in contact with family friend Matt Esposito, an Express Employment Professionals Franchisee in Trevose, PA. 

"When I spoke with Matt, everything seemed good and Express became my focus," said Migliore. "I had a list of everything I was looking for and Express checked them all off." 

When Migliore attended Discovery Day, his interest in Express was solidified and soon he was conducting validation calls with current Franchisees to learn about their experiences with Express. 

"I kept hearing how the level of support from Express Headquarters is just outstanding," said Migliore. "They all mentioned how I would need someone to lean on in the first few months but Headquarters and other Franchisees would be there for me." 

When all was said and done, Migliore was delighted to being awarded the Philadelphia (South), PA, Express location. 

"I'm most excited to get started and open my doors," said Migliore. "I really like the idea of helping people. It is balancing serving people needing jobs while also helping companies needing employees. I get to be an asset for both sides and that is exciting. I'm ready to roll!" 

Migliore acknowledges it will be a long and winding road to reach success, but he is confident and aims to reach Express' Circle of Excellence, an honor for Franchisees who reach goals based on performance, participation, compliance criteria, and gross margin dollar amount, as quickly as possible.
