    Husband-and-wife co-owners/operators, Jim and Carole Britton, have been in the local staffing business since 1980, and have received international acclaim for their endeavors; however, profits aren't their only measure of success. When good people find good jobs, individuals, businesses and communities succeed together. This culture of caring is at the heart of every leadership decision at Express, from our international headquarters to our office, right here, in Bloomington, IL.

    Express Employment Professionals' Local Ownership consists of husband-and-wife co-owners/operators Jim and Carole Britton. They are life-long residents of Springfield, Illinois and have been in the staffing business since 1980. The Brittons are energetically engaged in supporting the well-being of the Springfield community with their time, talents, leadership and financial involvement in many worthy local endeavors.

    The Brittons' staffing business, with franchises in Springfield, Bloomington, and Jacksonville, Illinois, has received international acclaim. Express Employment Professionals, one of the 5 largest staffing franchisers in the world with well over 700 locations, has recognized the Brittons' office as one of the premier offices in the franchise system. The Springfield franchise has received multiple national first place awards for annual gross sales, while Jim and Carole's regional organization in Illinois and Indiana has grown from $16.5 million in sales in 1994 to $89.5 million in 2005.

    Carole's community involvement includes the United Way board as well as memberships in Crimestoppers, Women in Management, The Small Business Council of the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce, National Association of Women Business Owners (“NAWBO”), National Association of Temporary Services, and National Association of Personnel Services. Carole is a past Chamber Ambassador, past United Way Campaign Co-Chair for Small Business, and has served on the Calvary Academy school board. Carole has also been a Regional Representative of Express, helping to develop Express Personnel franchises throughout Illinois and Indiana. Prior to the staffing business, Carole attended Lincoln Land Community College and Memorial Hospital's School of Nursing and was co-owner of Angelo's Pizza on Stevenson Drive.

    Jim has recently agreed to serve on the Strategic Leadership Council of the Quantum Growth Initiative (“Bridges”). In addition to being co-owner/operator of the Springfield and Bloomington franchises, he serves as Regional Developer for Express, sharing his extensive business expertise in helping other small business owners succeed throughout Illinois and Indiana.

    Both Jim and Carole are active in ministry at Calvary Temple Christian Center. They have 3 grown children, J.T., Josh, and Zac, and 9 grandchildren. All reside in the Springfield area.
