Do you know what to ask before accepting a job offer? In this article, employment center  Express Employment Professionals will discuss four questions that are important in the decision process. These questions will help you make an informed decision about whether or not this is the right position for you. Evaluate your answers to these questions and then decide if it's time to accept the offer!

How much vacation do I get?

You definitely want to find out how many days of paid vacation, sick leave, holidays, etc., are offered. If there isn't any paid time off included in your contract, this might be something worth negotiating with them when they extend an official offer letter. Remember: It never hurts to ask! And even though only some companies allow their employees PTO (paid time off) to take days when they are sick, you should ask about this too.

How much do I get paid?

You need a specific amount so that you can compare the offer and decide if it's right for you or not. What is considered competitive pay varies by region and industry. However, there are a number of tools you can use to compare salaries and make sure the offer is in line with what others receive for doing similar work.

Do I have any other offers?

It would help if you always considered whether or not someone else could be offering something better before accepting an official job offer. For example, if this happens to be your dream position, but another company has been courting you as well - why wouldn't you compare both job openings  so that you can make the optimal decision?

How flexible is their full-time schedule, and what are my work hours going to look like?

The goal here is to be flexible in case urgent matters come up (doctor's appointments, caring for a sick parent). You also want to know if they offer any flextime. For example: working from home one day every week. And lastly, it would benefit those who are parents or have other caring responsibilities to learn about potential work hours.

Once you have considered all of the above, it should be much easier to decide whether or not this is the job for you.
