Excavation Laborer
Schedule: Monday - Friday, occasional weekends if weather causes disruptions during the week. Starts at 6:00 AM.
Location: Shop is in Loxley. Job sites are all over Baldwin County.
Pay: $20 an hour to start. Once permanent - bonuses, PTO and other benefits are available!
Position Overview:
Express Employment Professionals is seeking a hardworking and reliable Excavation Laborer to support various construction projects. This role involves physical labor, use of tools and machinery, and adherence to safety protocols in a demanding outdoor environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clear debris, dig trenches, compact earth, and set up forms.
- Install rebar and other reinforcement materials.
- Demolish existing structures and clean work areas.
- Operate hand tools (shovels, drills, air hammers) and heavy machinery (excavators, backhoes).
- Repair, service, and install water lines, sewer lines, and water meters.
- Place and finish concrete using trowels, screeds, and other tools.
- Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE.
- Take direction from supervisors and project managers.
- Work in all weather conditions (extreme heat, humidity, or cold).
Requirements:
- Physically fit and able to perform demanding tasks.
- Proficient with hand and power tools.
- Familiarity with basic construction concepts and terminology.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from job sites.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
