Job Full Description
Job Title: Drywall Hanger
Pay: $20 an hour
The Drywall Hanger is responsible for installing drywall panels to walls and ceilings in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. This role requires precision, physical strength, and attention to detail to ensure surfaces are smooth and ready for finishing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Measure, cut, and fit drywall panels according to specifications.
- Secure drywall sheets to metal or wooden studs using screws, nails, or adhesives.
- Inspect framing and surfaces for alignment and structural integrity before installation.
- Patch holes, fill joints, and prepare surfaces for taping and finishing.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow safety protocols and comply with building codes and regulations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Proven experience as a drywall hanger or in a similar construction role.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong knowledge of drywall installation techniques and materials.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy panels.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Skills:
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and OSHA standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Work Environment:
- Indoor construction sites; may involve standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
