Job Full Description
Job Title: Load Checker
Pay: $16 - $18 an hour
The Load Checker ensures that all outbound and inbound shipments are accurate, properly documented, and meet company and customer requirements. This role involves verifying product quantities, inspecting load integrity, and maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify the accuracy of loads against shipping documents, invoices, and customer orders.
- Inspect pallets and containers for damage, proper labeling, and secure packaging.
- Record discrepancies and report issues to supervisors or inventory control.
- Ensure compliance with weight limits, load configurations, and safety regulations.
- Communicate with forklift operators, loaders, and warehouse staff to coordinate efficient loading/unloading.
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation for audits and inventory tracking.
- Follow all warehouse safety protocols and OSHA standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in warehouse operations or logistics preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret shipping documents and inventory records.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
Skills:
- Excellent communication and teamwork.
- Problem-solving and ability to work under pressure.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety and load securing practices.
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced warehouse setting with exposure to forklifts and heavy equipment.
- Requires use of PPE and adherence to safety guidelines.
