Job Title: Customer Billing Representative
Pay: $20.50 an hour
Location: Gulf Shores, AL
Job Summary
Under the direction of the Customer Service Manager, this position will train to perform customer billing and account-related functions in an accurate and timely manner. The employee will develop skills in billing operations, customer account management, and customer service while promoting safe work practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Train to accurately prepare and record service orders
- Train to maintain complete and current customer account records, including accounts receivable and new account setup
- Train to respond to customer inquiries and complaints, including calculation of billing adjustments
- Train to reconcile monthly billing system balances with general ledger balances
- Train to use handheld computer units to obtain billing data, meter readings, diagnostics, and customer service reports
- Train to set up new meter reading routes due to development and growth
- Perform additional clerical and administrative tasks as needed
- Promote safe work practices and support safety awareness initiatives
Examples of Work
- Train to perform billing procedures, including electronic bank payments, second notices, service disconnections, and resolution of questionable readings
- Train to print, file, and reconcile billing and customer service reports
- Train to post customer payments, prepare bank deposits, and record deposits to the general ledger
