Job Full Description
We have an opening for a CNC Machine Operator position working at a contract manufacturing facility located in Decatur, AL. This is an evaluation-to-hire opportunity with potential for full-time placement.
Skills/Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of machine shop experience is REQUIRED.
Experience operating a Mazak CNC machines is preferred but not required.
Must be able to perform, but not limited to, the following tasks: milling, turning, drilling, tapping, de-burring, sawing and sandblasting.
Must be able to read and interpret drawings, follow routers and use simple math to perform basic calculations.
Must have a working command of the English language and be able to communicate orally and in writing.
Must be capable of arriving to work on time, and working an entire work week on a consistent basis.
Ability to lift 40 lb. unassisted.
High School Diploma/GED or graduation from certified technical school.
Duties/Responsibilities
Set-up and operate computer numerical control machines to fabricate parts.
Load parts in machine, cycle machine, detect malfunctions in machine operations such as worn or damaged cutting tools, maintain quality and safety standards.
Inspect completed work for conformance to specification using tools such as calipers and basic measuring tools.
Comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions.
Ensure work area and equipment are kept in a clean orderly condition.
Perform preventative maintenance and conform to prescribed safety standards/procedures.
Perform other duties, as assigned.
