Job Full Description
We have an opening for a Forklift Operator/Material Handler position working at an automotive gasket manufacturer located in Athens, AL. This is an evaluation-to-hire opportunity with potential for full-time placement.

Skills/Qualifications
A proven track record operating both sit-down and stand-up forklift models is REQUIRED.
General computer operation and knowledge.
Must be able to read forklift operation manual and maintain certification for operational use.
Must be able to read and follow procedures and be aware of and comply with the company’s quality and environmental policies.
Must have a working command of the English language.
Must be capable of working an entire work week on a consistent basis.
Ability to lift and move objects up to 30 lb. unassisted.
Ability to sit, stand, walk, and negotiate obstacles and narrow access areas throughout the plant.
Ability to work for extended periods of overtime, as required.
Punctuality and dependability.
Duties/Responsibilities
Unload incoming materials from trucks and load outgoing products into trucks.
Scan, wrap and prepare products for shipping, including outgoing and retained documentation.
Report material movement and locations to individuals needing that information.
Maintain high level of organization in the warehouse to minimize space usage and increase accessibility, including waste and container disposal.
Provide receiving paperwork to Logistics Supervisor, Shipping and Receiving Auditor, and Accounting Clerk (based on document and item received).
Perform other organization tasks as required by the Logistics Supervisor.
Perform assigned processes and process maintenance.
All duties and responsibilities must be performed in a safe manner and in compliance with all pertinent regulations, according to standard procedures and work instructions.
