Summary:

As a Shop Custodian, you must be able to perform general housekeeping duties in the steel fabrication shop.

Responsibilities:

• Keeps shop floor in clean and orderly condition.
• Performs routine housekeeping and maintenance activities.
• Performs heavy cleaning duties.
• Sweeps with a broom or magnetic sweeper all production areas.
• Gathers and empties trash.
• Follow direction and flow of the shop in order to clean in the most efficient manner.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures
• Ability to stand, walk, and bend for many hours
• Ability to perform repetitive motion for long periods of time
• Experience with using cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and cleaning solutions
• Knowledge of occupational hazards safety rules
• Communication skills
• Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders and work at particular height
• Must be punctual and have a strong work ethic.
