Bindery Operator
Overview:
The Bindery Operator plays a key role in the final stages of the printing process by preparing, assembling, and packaging printed materials for delivery. This position involves operating a variety of finishing equipment—including cutters, folders, inserters, and binders—to ensure all projects are completed accurately, on time, and in line with customer specifications. The ideal candidate has solid mechanical skills, a sharp eye for detail, and enjoys hands-on work in a fast-moving production environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Operate and adjust bindery and finishing equipment according to production specifications.

Review job tickets to verify details and ensure all instructions are followed.

Inspect printed materials for accuracy, color consistency, and quality throughout the production process.

Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs to reduce machine downtime.

Work collaboratively with press operators and production staff to meet schedule requirements.

Package, box, and label finished products for shipment.

Keep workstations clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.

Record daily production data and report any mechanical or quality issues promptly.

Maintain efficiency to meet tight mailing and fulfillment deadlines.
Qualifications and Skills:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Previous experience in a print production, manufacturing, or warehouse setting preferred.

Working knowledge of bindery operations and finishing processes is a plus.

Ability to read and interpret production instructions accurately.

Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Basic math and measurement abilities.

Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and perform repetitive motions such as bending, lifting, and reaching.

Work Environment:
This is a production-floor position that requires working around moving machinery, moderate noise levels, and paper dust. Safety gear and adherence to company safety practices are required at all times.
