Human Resources Assistant
Pay Range: $18 - $22 / Hour
Schedule: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm M-F
Location: Anaheim

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Interview, screen, evaluate and extend employment offers to qualified applicants.
• Conduct new employee on-boarding /orientation and exit interviews.
• Coordinate company-wide temporary work force with employment agencies.
• Conduct reference checks and pre-employment verifications on candidates.
• Provide employee relations support by acting as a liaison between management and employee.
• Prepare and maintain accurate databases and complete employee files on employment, compensation, recruiting, benefits and employee relations. Compile a variety of human resources data for consolidation into management reports.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, county and city laws and regulations.
• Prepare data for compensation and benefit surveys.
• Assist supervision in interpreting and applying human resources policies and counseling employees concerning work-related issues.
• Coordinate benefits information, enrollment and billing process. May provide assistance to employees in resolving benefit related issues.
• Leave of absence administration, including FMLA/CFRA documentation and tracking; worker’s compensation claims reporting and OSHA log preparation.
• Provide executive administrative assistance to President/CEO, CFO and senior executive staff, including preparation of Board Meeting presentations, coordinating travel plans and creating/maintaining reports and correspondence.
• Organize and assist with planning of company recreation events.
• Assist in preparation and presentation of routine unemployment claim proceedings and similar tasks.

Requirements, Experience & Education:
• Proven experience as HR Generalist
• Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures
• Good knowledge of employment/labor laws
• Outstanding knowledge of MS Office; HRIS systems (e.g. PeopleSoft) will be a plus
• Excellent communication and people skills
• Aptitude in problem-solving
• Desire to work as a team with a results driven approach
• Additional HR training will be a plus
• Three or more years of experience in an applicable setting
• Applicants must be comfortable with data entry and administrative duties
• High school diploma/GED is required – higher education is ideal
