Job Full Description
Cash Applications Clerk
Pay: $22.00–$24.00/hour (DOE)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM
Duration: Temporary assignment (approximately 10–12 months) with potential for future employment based on performance.
Responsibilities
- Post customer payments received by check, credit card, ACH, and wire transfer accurately and timely.
- Apply payments to the appropriate customer accounts.
- Research and resolve unapplied cash, payment discrepancies, deductions, and short payments.
- Reconcile daily cash receipts and maintain accurate payment records.
- Assist with account reconciliations and support the Accounts Receivable team.
- Communicate with customers and internal departments regarding payment issues when needed.
- Perform data entry with a high level of accuracy.
- Assist with additional accounting and administrative projects as assigned.
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in Cash Applications, Accounts Receivable, Accounting, or a related office role preferred.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles.
- Strong data entry and 10-key skills with excellent accuracy.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience with QuickBooks or an ERP system is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
