Job Full Description
Position Overview
Pulls & picks finished goods & components per Pick Ticket Order or other work orders from stock or production. Stages order or loads for truck shipments and will call clients. Assist when assigned to material handling, packaging duties and other operational tasks as required.
Daily Job Duties:
- Be clear on order pulling priorities before you start your daily activity
- When pulling products inspect for quality defects, product identification, correct Sales Order Number and count all finished goods & components BEFORE pulling & staging
- Fill out all Pick Tickets or work order per order fulfillment process
- Create as required packaging identification signs, apply to packages or products
- Apply special labeling as required (Union Labels)
- Communicate any quality, packaging, labeling errors of staged components to your supervisor or lead
- Communicate all discovered damaged or mis-handled materials, mislabeled items, incorrectly located stocked inventory to your supervisor & lead
- Operate all automated packaging & material handling equipment (Strapping/Stretch Machines) and manual strapping machines and pallet jacks
- Re-package & relabel products as necessary that are staged for shipping or customer stock
- When assigned work with Sealing & Packaging and stocking personnel
- Maintain and keep shipping yard, shipping staging and shipping stock areas, clean and free of broken pallets, unsafe materials, discarded metal items and paper trash DAILY
Safety Requirements:
- Employee is required to carry a current forklift driver’s license, attend all required meetings and safety training classes

- Employee is required to report to their direct supervisor or management any individuals who are conducting their work in a unsafe or hazardous manner
- Never use or perform work duties with any piece of equipment that has functional defects, report immediately to your supervisor -
o Example, broken horn on forklift, non-working hydraulic lift on pallet jack, etc,
- Employee to wear all required PPE safety gear Example: steel toed shoes, safety glasses, etc.
and dressed in durable pants & shirt or uniform always during all work hours
Qualifications:
· Minimum of one year experience of Order Pulling, Shipping & Receiving or Material Handling
· Must have solid math skills, basic adding, subtracting, and use of tape measure
· Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
· Solid communication skills both verbally & written, English as a second language a Plus
· Must have current driver’s license certification for forklifts
· Must possess valid California driver's license, no violations within last 3 years
· Must pass “Load Securement Certification Test” – GPE requirement
· Safety conscious always, conforms to the GPE’s safety requirements and policies
Physical Requirements:
· Able to lift fifty pounds with minimal effort
· Position will require individual to move and lift various packages and items for purpose of staging and loading trucks
· Position will require individual to stand, bend down for prolonged periods of time
- Position will require individual be able climb and use various folding and roll-around ladders with minimal physical effort
- Position will require individual work outside exposed to various weather conditions
