POSITION SUMMARY
The overall responsibilities of the Production Control Assistant position are to provide support in coordinating and expediting the flow of work and materials within or between departments in a manufacturing environment. Position is expected to interact frequently with Production, Purchasing, Inventory Control, Shipping, Customer Service and Engineering.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Collect data and generate reports for labor utilization and efficiency.
· Compile work order packages including creation of any required labels.
· Pull work orders for production schedules for assigned work centers and product lines, prioritizing and expediting.
· Support Production Planners in the preparation of production cell schedules
· Verify part shortages on work orders.
· Place hardware orders by forecasting based on supply and demand needs.
· Generate and distribute daily reports.
· Complete sales order checklist validation and generate associated serial tags.
· Support Shipping Department by generating crating labels as needed.
· Expedite customer orders to Warehouse and schedule to ensure timely delivery.
· Provide support to warehouse and/or production personnel for lost work orders.
· Generate physical tags for annual inventory preparation.
· Update powder coat in-out log and prepare placards for work order families.
· Create new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and revise existing ones as needed.
· Assist Document Control in updating routers and BOMs.
· Collaboration with Engineering and Production in a supportive manner relating to drawing packages, manufacturing documentation, timecards, labels, efficiency logs, etc.
· Provide support on special projects as needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or GED
- Proficient in MS Office applications, Outlook and Excel required, and Access is a plus
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Effective communication skills in both oral and written.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in an agile and fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills to work with team members
- Basic analytical skills
- Ability to meet attendance requirements
PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- College credits or degree preferred in business or supply chain management
- Previous experience working for fabrication companies with assembly processes
- Familiarity with production planning processes
