Summary of duties and responsibilities:

This position would be involved in cleaning, preparing, and maintaining galvanized steel used in Alvarado's products. This is part of the larger manufacturing process that ensures products meet quality and safety standards before shipment.

Key responsibilities would likely include:

  *   Cleaning surfaces: Using degreasers, or solvents to remove dirt, grease, oil, and surface oxidation ("white rust") from galvanized steel.
  *   Preparing for finishing: Etching the surface of new galvanized metal so it is ready for paint application.
  *   Inspecting for defects: Monitoring the production line to remove faulty products and ensure all parts meet quality standards.
  *   Operating machinery: Using production and power tools equipment, to clean and move materials.
  *   Following safety procedures: Adhering to all safety guidelines and wearing appropriate protective equipment for handling cleaning chemicals and working in a manufacturing environment.
  *   Maintaining the work area: Keeping the workspace and equipment clean and tidy to avoid hazards.

General production support: Performing other factory tasks like assembly, packaging, or sorting materials, as needed.

Required skills and qualifications

Ideal candidate would need:

  *   Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy materials up to 50 lbs. regularly.
  *   Strong attention to detail for quality assurance and able to follow instructions.
  *   The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  *   Good communication skills to report issues to supervisors.
  *   Must be able to communicate in English

  *   Knowledge of safety procedures in a manufacturing or warehouse setting.

  *   Previous work with metal preferred but not required
