Job Full Description
Certified Rigger preferred but not mandatory. Class A license mandatory.
The rigging/support role is:
- work with crane operator to secure loads (rigger does not have primary responsibility—will take direction from operator or client)
- ability to work around crane equipment, secure loads with all types of slings, spreader bars and shackles
- ability to pick up signaling (we will train)
- safety focused
- capable of climbing on equipment and loads with three point harnesses
- ability to move cribbing and crane pads
- organized
- good listener
- takes direction
- capable of handling periods of intense work, intense focus and down time
The driver component is:
- Hauling crane counterweights, rigging equipment and client cargo to and from pick sites.
- Knowledge of:
- DOT safety
- cargo securement
A day in the life is:
- Rigger/Driver assigned to project with an operator.
- Preps crane and trailer for pick with assigned rigging equipment (countreweights, slings, shackles, spreaderbars, etc.)
- Follows a crane to a pick site in a Dura Crane semi assigned load
- Assists crane operator in setting up crane, hooking up counterweights, staging rigging, etc.
- May provide "spotter and signaling" for crane operator—especially for picks with limited operator visibility
- Support operator in crane moves throughout pick site
- Moving trailers throughout pick site
- Support operator in breaking down crane, packing rigging and returning to yard safely
