Experienced Metal Lathe / Machine Operator
Position Summary
The Metal Lathe/Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring metalworking equipment to produce precision parts according to engineering specifications and quality standards. This position ensures safe operation of machinery while maintaining productivity and product quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate metal lathes and other machining equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
- Measure and inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools.
- Monitor machine performance and make minor adjustments as needed.
- Perform routine maintenance and keep equipment and work areas clean.
- Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and company policies.
- Record production data and report equipment issues to supervisors.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous machining or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to read measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
