Position: Skilled Carpenter
We are looking to hire a skilled carpenter with knowledge of various carpentry techniques. You will be responsible for layout, installation, repairing, finishing, and maintaining various structures, fixtures, and buildings. Other duties will include designing, cutting, and measuring materials according to a client's requirements.
We are currently seeking a Skilled Carpenter to join our team in La Plata County. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with a variety of carpentry techniques and be capable of reading blueprints, measuring materials, and completing high-quality construction and repair work.
You’ll be responsible for the layout, installation, maintenance, and repair of structures, fixtures, and buildings. Additional responsibilities include cutting and shaping materials to client specifications and ensuring all work meets safety and building standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Measure, mark, and prepare materials according to layout plans or blueprints.

Build, assemble, and install structures using hand and power tools.

Perform installations including windows and doors.

Inspect and verify accuracy of work using levels, framing squares, and other tools.

Ensure compliance with local building codes and safety regulations.

Identify and correct any construction or design issues.

Carry out other carpentry-related tasks as needed.
Requirements:

Proven experience in skilled carpentry (apprenticeship or equivalent work history).

Strong knowledge of carpentry tools, techniques, and safety practices.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

Good math and problem-solving skills.

Capable of standing for long periods and lifting heavy objects.

Reliable, hardworking, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Strong organizational and communication skills.

A successful applicant should be hardworking, reliable, and have good communication and organizational skills. You must have completed an apprenticeship in carpentry or have equivalent experience in the field.
Duties/Responsibilities:
-Measures, marks, and arranges materials to established layout based on blueprints or instructions from supervisors.
-Uses various hand and power tools to securely build assigned projects.
-Ability to stand for prolonged periods, climb, pull, and lift heavy objects.
-Ensures the accuracy of work by checking completed projects with tools such as levels, surveying equipment, or framing squares; corrects problems as needed.
-Installs windows and doors.
-Adheres to local building and safety codes and guidelines.
-Performs other related duties as assigned.
