Pay: $20–$30 per hour
Seeking a Power and Communications Staking and Design Assistant to support electric distribution and telecommunications projects in Durango, CO. This role assists engineering teams with field data collection, staking, drafting, and preparation of construction drawings and material lists for overhead and underground utility infrastructure.
Responsibilities:

Support field staking and data collection

Prepare construction drawings and material lists
-
Utilize staking and design software (NISC, MicroStation, GIS systems)

Assist with overhead and underground power distribution and fiber design

Maintain accurate project documentation

Perform fieldwork in varying terrain and weather conditions
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology, Drafting/Design, Surveying, or related field
OR Associate’s degree with 1–3 years of experience
OR 4+ years of utility design or construction support experience

Ability to learn NISC, MicroStation, and GIS-based systems

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to perform physical fieldwork
Preferred:
-
Experience with Partner, SpidaCalc, Alden One, Katapult, IKE, O-Calc, or Pole Foreman

Familiarity with NESC and OSHA standards

Experience with electric cooperatives, utilities, or telecom providers
