Job Title: Lead Switchboard Technician
Overview:
The Lead Switchboard Technician oversees and supports a team, ensuring tasks are completed effectively and safely. Reporting to a manager, this role involves guiding and motivating teammates to meet production and safety goals while maintaining strong communication and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform the same daily tasks as other team members in the department.

Be a visible presence on the shop floor or customer sites, offering support and guidance.

Assign tasks and manage schedules to keep work on track.

Set an example by following all company, customer, and legal safety procedures.

Make sure the team has the right tools and equipment; arrange maintenance when necessary.

May be responsible for filling out reports and paperwork such as customer forms, safety documents, delivery slips, etc.

Help with hiring when needed and take part in interviews. Provide coaching and mentoring, evaluate performance, and support training.

Build and maintain good working relationships with both internal teams and external customers and vendors. Communicate with clients in a professional and helpful manner.

Work with leadership to apply and support improvement strategies across the business.

Report concerns such as team issues, safety risks, or other workplace matters to management quickly.

Must be flexible with work hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, depending on business needs.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
-
High school diploma or GED with at least 5 years of relevant experience.

Familiarity with industry standards like NETA, NEC, OSHA, and NFPA.

Field and shop leads should understand industrial and commercial systems, as well as troubleshooting methods. Shop leads should also understand inventory and shipping processes.

Must follow electrical safety protocols and work safely at all times.

Flexible schedule required; field leads should be available for travel.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Must work well with others and prioritize customer satisfaction.

Attention to detail and efficiency is important.

A valid driver’s license is required if driving a company vehicle.
