Inspect electrical and mechanical equipment for any visible issues upon arrival.

Troubleshoot, test, repair, modify, or rebuild various electrical systems and equipment, which may include transformers, circuit breakers, or switchgear (low/medium voltage). Tasks might also involve welding or painting, depending on the location.

Prepare and submit test reports following company and customer requirements.

Continuously work to improve efficiency, reduce turnaround time, and collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations.

Communicate with your supervisor or team lead about job progress and any issues.

Work as part of a team, sharing information and ensuring customer needs are met.

Keep your work area clean and follow all safety rules and company policies.

Provide guidance and training to less experienced shop techs as needed.

Be available to work evenings or weekends, if required.

Occasionally provide technical support at offsite locations.

Perform other duties as needed.

High school diploma or GED.

At least 5 years of related experience.

Familiarity with safety regulations (e.g., OSHA).

Understanding of standards like NETA, IEEE, NFPA.

Hands-on experience with various electrical equipment (low/high voltage).

Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills.

Basic computer knowledge for tasks like data entry and report creation.

Good communication skills—both written and verbal.

Ability to follow written and spoken instructions, work with a team, and meet customer expectations.

Valid driver’s license (if driving a company vehicle is required).
